Cumberland Mountain State Park is located on the Cumberland plateau of Tennessee. Comprised of 1,720 acres of breathtaking natural scenery and wildlife which seems to beckon visitors to explore. Rustic cabins are set among the trees and native shrubs with parking in front of each cabin. All are fully furnished with linens, cable television and a fully equipped kitchen. Cabins have a picnic table, grill and firewood is stacked near cabins for those cool nights. Most cabins have fireplaces. Tents and RV's have the choice of 147 campsites, each with a grill and picnic table. A bathhouse is also available for campers. Hiking TrailsEasy to moderate trails wind around the Byrd Lake and through the woods. Overnight camping is allowed on one of the longer trails. Trail maps can be picked up at the park office. Boating and FishingPaddleboats, canoes and row boats are available for rent at the boat dock on Byrd Lake from May through October. Private boats are not allowed on the lake. Fishing from the bank is permitted unless otherwise marked. The park office can advise on license and park permits for fishing. Picnic and Pavilion FacilitiesPicnic tables with grills are situated around the common areas in the park. Four pavilions are available for larger gatherings. Family ActivitiesThe park offers a pool, tennis courts, badminton, basketball, softball, volleyball, horseshoes and a playground for the little ones. RestaurantThe restaurant at the park is open seven days a week during the summer months and serves a variety of dishes. ProgramsPark rangers are available for programs year round. A seasonal naturalist provides interpretive programs from June through August. GolfingBear Trace at Cumberland Mountain is one of the Jack Nicklaus designed courses. AccessibilityThe cabins, campground and swimming pool are accessible to people with disabilities. Nearby Points of InterestThe city of Crossville has a variety of things to see and do, from folksy to fine art. The Homestead MuseumThis museum is one mile from the park entrance and should not be passed up. Housed in this museum is the history of The Homestead Community. Adult Day Trips
TheatreThe Cumberland County Playhouse Theatre presents a variety of plays throughout the year. FestivalsThe city of Crossville always seems to have a celebration or festival of some sort going on.
